Is there a discipline guide for children in our present time? Is it really hard to discipline modern children nowadays? How can they be compared to old generations? 

Those who were born during 1990’s have really lived an entirely different world compared to their parents.  Indeed, parents grew up with a TV set and other home-based equipment. But to make a comparison between today’s undersized screen and the older generation of three decades ago, is like matching old mobile phones of 1980’s Dyna TAC Motorola with this day’s innovations.  

In our time now, children learn both visually and mentally without necessarily transmitting the transcribed words to mind picture. This was not the same with what their parents did before.

Favoritism between Two Sons -- How to Avoid It


I am a father and I got two different sons and unconsciously I treat the older one with favoritism.  The older one is fond of sports and he likes hanging out with friends.  My younger son is very quiet and is artistic.  As a father, sports are my interests and I keep participating on these activities.   I always enjoy being with people.  Naturally, to have a son who is sports-minded is very exciting.  My spouse gets along well with my two boys.  What I am more concerned about is my other son.  He might feel left out of the relationship between me and his brother.  It seems we’re both in different fields.

As a parent, I understand how hard it is to train and discipline children because I can see it in my own son.   No matter what goes wrong in him, he doesn’t always run out of good excuses.  What he normally does is to put the blame on something or someone else for all faults.  Constantly, my son is on the go, so the only opportunity to discuss with him about issues is just before he sleeps at night.  However, our conversations have never turned out the way I’d wanted it.   He puts an end to our discussion upset and crying with me.  He yells because he believes I blame him for things he never did.  Can you please help me find ways to train and discipline my child.
